Nurse Anesthesia Program. As part of the Southern California CSU DNP Consortium, the School of Nursing at CSUF and KPSA have developed a three year sequential academic and clinical graduate program for nurses with a baccalaureate degree. Upon completion of the program, a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a concentration in Nurse Anesthesia is awarded by CSUF. The Program underwent a reaccreditation review in Fall 2013 and was granted continued accreditation for the maximum period of 10 years effective May 30, 2014. CRNA Classes. Those with a desire to work in anesthesia and the drive to work with a high level of autonomy can enter the CRNA pathway via a specialty Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). The nurse anesthetist also referred to as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), is a sought after and rewarding occupation in the field of advanced practice registered nurse. Under the guidance of expert CRNA and physician faculty members who are part of the Keck School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology, student nurse anesthetists are guided in the administration and management of general anesthesia, regional anesthetic techniques and modalities of invasive monitoring. The Program of Nurse Anesthesia is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
